Steaming the cold lake’s shallow waters,
Sheets of mist creep slowly over the glassy surface.
Gray fingers stroke her face, barely touching, with a canvas of ghostly white.
Not a ripple emerges under the gauzy blanket, as if sleeping in a trance.
Subtle is the breath of a fresh morning breeze,
Dancing lightly on the lake,
Delicate ballerina skimming the water.
Frost hugs the grass, remnants of night’s cold breath linger,
as morning’s sun smiles and melts her to dewy tears.
Especially calming and cooling on this summer day of triple-degree heat! A wonderful time out.
Thank you, Rebecca! Stay cool!
